About

Authors In The Tent, hosted by Ona Russell on LitHub, is a professionally filmed series of interviews with established and emerging authors conducted in a tent Russell purchased during the pandemic. Inspired by Boccaccio’s Decameron and the 1001 Arabian Nights, the tent—elemental, ancient, and ubiquitous—serves as a magical backdrop for literary conversation.

“In the Tent,” her essay about the experience, was selected by the San Diego Decameron Project as one of ten out of a hundred to be read aloud by professional actors. And that honor got her thinking: how would other authors respond to this space? Would the magic be contagious?

This series is in support of the charities Tents-4-Homeless, PATH, Alpha Project, and VVSD.
